When we say that our Living Beverages® are raw, we mean that nothing in the bottle has been cooked or heated above 118°F. Other juices on the market are heated through a process called pasteurization. Traditional pasteurization uses high heat to kill bacteria, but it also reduces the nutritional value by eliminating beneficial enzymes and nutrients.
An alternative to pasteurization is High-pressure Processing (HPP) which applies extreme pressure to the juice to extend its shelf life, but it still alters the juice's natural state. Pasteurization kills off healthy life forms along with the harmful ones, reducing nutrition from much of the juice the world consumes today.
